Our client is a pre-eminent full service real estate company with more than 100 properties in its portfolio that comprise a total of almost 15 million square feet. Currently expanding, our client seeks to add an Acquisitions Director who will be responsible for originating new equity real estate investments in Northern California. The company is positioned for exponential growth. The prospects in the industry are huge, and the Acquisitions Director will have a tremendous opportunity to gain increased visibility in the industry with a company that has an outstanding platform for growth. The main function of the Director will be to originate new equity real estate investments in highly competitive and dynamic geographic markets.
Job Scope:
- Originate new equity real estate investments in the Northern California region.
- Directly call on developers, brokers and property owners / operators to source equity opportunities.
- Perform preliminary financial analysis of partner, property, tenants, market, rent and sale comps; assist with data collection, market research, etc.
- Collaborate with Underwriting and Asset Management teams on analysis, structuring and documentation.
- Present new transactions to investment committee for approval.
- Assist asset management team with sales and problem assets.
- Develop long-term relationships with partners and cultivate relationships / network.
- Participate in trade associations and events to increase company exposure in the marketplace.
- Assist in the mentoring of junior associates.
Experience / Education Required:
- BS/BA in Real Estate, Business, Finance or related degree.
- At least eight years of work experience in commercial real estate, including underwriting, valuation and new business development, preferably with debt and equity.
- Solid business development skills and an established network of referral sources, including brokers, investors, operators and developers in a specific geographic region.
- Demonstrated track record of sourcing and closing commercial real estate transactions.
- Working knowledge of joint venture forms and documents used in the approval and closing of commercial real estate transactions.
- Demonstrated financial analysis and new business development skills.
- Computer proficiency in Excel, Dyna or Argus, Word and PowerPoint.
- Strong communication (oral/written) skills.
