Our client is one of the world’s leading resources for commercial real estate capital.  The company forms joint venture equity partnerships with owners and developers across the broad spectrum of the commercial real estate world.  The commercial business sector is looking to identify an individual who will be externally focused to find the best and brightest operating partners focusing on both office and industrial deals; work with both existing and new partners to invest in new asset classes, geographic markets, and new investment positions in capital structures; develop strong relationships with well-known real estate investors and operators; and lead the team in negotiating, structuring, and closing master joint ventures with partners and working the deals through the company’s credit committee. The successful candidate will be involved in key group strategic initiatives, developing products and pricing for the commercial business sector.  Finally, the Director will serve as a national liaison for the company’s regional leaders who are also forming joint venture equity partnerships within their respective territories.  The position will report to the Managing Director of the Commercial business sector.

Experience / Education Required:

- A minimum of 7 years experience in U.S. real estate equity investment markets.
- Bachelor Degree is required; MBA in Corporate Finance and/or Accounting is desired.
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills (particularly writing skills).
- Strong financial and credit analysis skills with high attention to detail.
- Portfolio underwriting experience – GVT experience a real plus.
- Strong computer skills: Excel, PowerPoint, Word, GVT Models, and Argus.
- Takes Ownership: Accountable for the success of growing existing ventures and creating new ones. Candidate has overall relationship management, asset management and reporting – working with risk, underwriting and asset management teams – both internally and externally.
- Excellent Communication: listens carefully to customer/partner/seller needs and incorporates into solutions. Checks back for full understanding.
- Connects daily with partners and sellers – assuring that their needs are being met.
- Acts Decisively: Able to make decisions with speed and accuracy based on best available information at the time.
