Our client is an international bank that ranks prominently in the United States and Europe, with over 3,000 branches in more than 60 countries, and a staff of more than 100,000.  Our client is listed on various stock exchanges worldwide and services individuals and small- to medium-sized enterprises requiring day-to-day banking; individual and institutional investors; and major international corporations and institutions.

Opportunity:

The winning candidate will likely emerge as a prime deal maker within our client’s cross border structured finance group.  This individual will work closely with the group head to run a sizable portion of their international business.  Our client is looking for the individual with the skill set, polish, and presence to make a huge impact on the CBSF group.  Others who have held similar roles have assumed critical international positions, and the opportunities for and international career path abound.

Job Scope:

- Function as a senior originator in a team of seven professionals reporting to the team head.
- Responsibilities would include marketing structured finance solutions directly to clients (both in the US and internationally) and then structuring and executing the mandates won through the marketing effort.
- Candidate would need to function as a deal team leader working closely with client relationship managers, fellow CBSF colleagues, as well as distribution financial market colleagues in the bank.  Candidate should be prepared to accept responsibility for aggressive revenue generation targets and to function independently as a new business originator.
- Structuring and executing the mandates won through the marketing effort.
- Ability to function independently as a new business originator.
- Fairly significant travel expectations (30%+).

Experience / Education Required:

- Particular industry expertise (i.e., oil & gas, telecommunications, aerospace etc.) or regional expertise (i.e., Latin America, Asia, and Eastern Europe) would be of interest.
- 10+ years banking/finance experience with at least 5+ years of experience in structured finance (i.e., project, structured trade, structured commodity, securitization type experience).
- Experience in cross-border financing techniques, particularly as they relate to emerging market borrowers/issuers.
- Extensive background dealing with export credit agencies, multilateral development banks, export credit and political risk insurers, and institutional investors with emerging market risk appetite.  Candidate should also be familiar with emerging market risk distribution in the private placement and bank syndication markets, as well as derivative products (interest rate, currency, and credit derivatives) related to such transactions.
- Success marketing structured finance solutions directly to clients.
- Bachelors degree required, graduate degree (particularly an MBA) preferred.
- Experience working/living abroad, demonstrable knowledge of foreign cultures and/or foreign (non-English) language skills are desirable qualities.
