Challenges:

As the company continues to expand with projected growth across the entire organization, the management team has identified the need to develop a more formal talent management strategy that is more closely aligned with and supports the overall growth objectives of the organization.  The Director of Talent Management will be tasked with developing and implementing strategies and programs for career management and succession planning, leadership and talent development, training delivery, competency management, and coaching and consulting.  The successful candidate will play the lead role in developing internal talent, ensuring that the company is prepared with the strong leaders required to achieve the company’s aggressive growth targets for years to come.

Most importantly, the company is seeking a senior talent management professional to develop a strategic roadmap for the cultivation and growth of internal talent and the future leadership team. This corporate function is responsible for evaluating, developing and implementing strategies and developmental action plans to drive succession planning and leadership development.  The director will be accountable for developing and building a talent management organization that is focused on the acceleration of existing talent management programs and the creation of new programs and best practices for career and succession management, leadership development, talent development, training delivery, competency management, and coaching and consulting.

Job Scope:

- Create and implement an effective workforce plan forecasting process to facilitate career planning and succession management.
- Implement a competency-based leadership development strategy to ensure the ability to meet future leadership needs.
- Accelerate the implementation of the talent management strategy related to performance management, succession planning, talent assessment instruments, and training and development offerings that align with the company’s goals.
- Expand coaching and consulting services for leadership team members.
- Assist in the development of change initiatives and the analysis of the ROI of technology investments to support the strategic talent management function.
- Serve as the HR team leader on a major project to select and implement software solutions to support the strategic talent management function.
- Design, develop, and lead the implementation of an integrated talent management system that provides for strengthening the leadership and technical talent required to achieve the company’s strategic objectives.
- Develop appropriate metrics and tracking mechanisms to build accountability, measure results, and optimize the impact of the strategic talent management function.
- This position reports to the company’s Vice President, Human Resources.

- Ability to engage and influence senior leaders and other key stakeholders.
- Understanding of talent management software systems (e.g., performance, learning and development, and succession management).

Experience / Education Required:

- BS/BA degree in Business, Human Resources Management or Industrial Psychology.  Master’s degree in Organizational Development or related field is preferred.
- A minimum of fifteen (15) years in the human resources field, at least seven (7) of which are in progressively more responsible positions in related talent management positions.
- A track record of successfully designing and implementing strategic talent management programs and processes throughout a large organization.
- Prior experience in a production operations environment would be an added advantage.
- Proven ability to work in a national and global environment.
- Competence in strategic thinking and planning, innovative thinking, and strong expertise in human resources and leadership development.
- Experience with ADP Enterprise 4.0, Oracle ERP suite and/or similar products.
- Must be an articulate communicator who is able to explain the company’s Global Talent Management vision and strategy.
- Must be able to execute and drive implementation of the agreed-upon strategies.
- Familiarity with Spanish and/or Mandarin Chinese is preferred but not required.  Foreign language skills of any kind are highly desirable.
