Challenges:
Our client faces the challenge of exploiting the Southern California and Western U.S. water market in a tight, highly competitive landscape. The individual chosen to be Senior Vice President will have the opportunity to set the tone, strategy, and overall direction for the development of the water and wastewater markets in the Western Region. The chosen candidate to work with a dynamic company that has an excellent platform for growth and visibility, giving this individual the resources necessary to build the Western Region.
Reporting to the Western Region District Manager, the Senior Vice President will be highly visible to the Global Head of Water Business Development, the Global CEO, and other top corporate executives. This individual will have the authority for putting together the broadest range of opportunities in the Western Region. These projects may range from program management to final design, and from engineering consulting to build-own-operate opportunities.

Job Scope:
- With the advice of the members of senior management, this individual will develop the strategies, objectives, policies, and operating plans for the company’s business efforts in the Western Region.
- Lead the effort to maximize profitability by addressing marketing opportunities, quality of service, cost, and return on investment.
- Analyzes operating results of the company relative to established objectives and insures that appropriate steps are taken to correct any unsatisfactory conditions or results. Reviews projections of the company’s working capital requirements.
- Represents the company in its relationships with clients, vendors, and the general public.
- Working within a matrixed environment to provide senior leadership and support in different parts of the organization.
Education / Experience Required:
- Fifteen or more years of experience in the water and wastewater market, with proven relationships and marketing experience.
- Bachelor of Science degree from a reputable college or university. Technical bachelor’s degree, MBA, and PE are highly desirable.
- Must possess significant contract negotiation experience and extensive marketing experience.
- Design build, contract operations, and program management business experience preferred.
