PSI – Vice President, South Region

Our client is a multi-disciplinary consulting engineering and testing firm with core competencies in numerous areas including geotechnical, construction materials testing, construction services, and environmental consulting. Our client’s customers stem from both the private and public sectors, covering everything from Phase I and II environmental impact statements to indoor air quality and industrial hygiene projects. They are an industry leader with a wide range of markets and client companies and produce exceptional results for their clientele. In the Dallas market our client is known for providing a dynamic suite of geotechnical and construction services to mainly private sector clients.

Challenges:

The rapid increase in private development business opportunities during the past several years has elevated the intensity of competition for customers, projects, and talent.  The regional leader our client hires must diversify and expand the business.  He or she must be very aggressive in capitalizing on new market opportunities to boost revenues and improve operational efficiencies to increase the region’s profitability. The company’s Dallas regional office possess the in-house technical resources to service clients in many different areas, but the office requires the right type of leader who can increase market share and improve overall performance and quality of services. Our client has invested the capital necessary to achieve long-term success in the region, but the company requires a can-do leader to take charge and execute a business plan that will maximize those opportunities.

Opportunity:

As a key regional executive, the Vice President will have tremendous visibility both within our client’s company and throughout the local market. With endless opportunities to serve developers and other private sector clients, the potential for pushing into underdeveloped market segments is tremendous. This individual will be allowed to generate as much success as his or her hard work and creativity will allow, but he or she must recognize that the company must also hire the right talent in the region to successfully grow the business. The Vice President must develop and execute a plan that will aggressively grow the top line while closely monitoring bottom line performance. For the individual who can create a strategy that focuses on the big picture and increases revenues and profit margins, he or she will also have the chance to assume expanded regional management opportunities in the surrounding states.

Job Scope:

- Provide leadership and direction for the company’s Dallas office in the company’s core local business areas – geotechnical engineering, construction materials testing & inspections, and construction services.
– Develop the company’s brand image in Dallas and diversify the company’s service offerings and client base in the region.
– Identify and pursue opportunities with existing and new target customers.
– Lead local recruiting efforts and provide leadership for junior staff to inspire a higher level of project performance.
– Increase overall regional operations (P&L) performance.
– Expand the company’s regional client base and market visibility.
– Recruit, build, train, and mentor a winning team.

Experience / Education Required:

- Bachelor of Science required, professional engineering registration preferred.
– Demonstrated general management and business development experience in the Dallas market, with a track record for increasing revenues and improving profit & loss performance.
– Ten plus years of work experience in one of the company’s core market segments – geotechnical engineering, construction materials testing, and / or construction services.
