Senior Engineer, Healthcare

West Coast

For more than four decades, our client has been a comprehensive multi-disciplinary MEP firm active in the core markets of healthcare, mission critical, higher education and laboratories. They have been recognized as leaders in these markets, but have refused to rest on their success.  As true leaders in the MEP industry, they have taken a progressive approach to connecting their work to the broader social ills facing our country and the rest of the world, such as climate change. With imminent growth plans to take them to over 170 people, this privately held firm reflects a philosophy of integrity, teamwork, respect and commitment to success. Our client’s Strategic Plan commits it to managed growth, which includes well-planned geographical expansion into new regions. In so doing, our client plans to bring their brand of exceptionally high quality professional services to a national audience.

The awarding winning healthcare (life sciences) practice of our client provides innovative solutions to scores of nationally recognized healthcare institutions, many of which are longstanding clients. Their understanding of sustainability and energy efficiency has helped them to carve out a niche service that currently has a two year backlog of projects. Our client provides a seamless interface with owners, architects and other engineering groups by designing precise solutions that meet the various critical needs in today’s modern hospitals, laboratories, and universities. The ideal candidate will be professional and articulate, will understand how outstanding projects are successfully executed, and will be sensitive to the needs of the various stakeholders in a project (architects, owners, and other engineers).

Challenges:

The ongoing demand for healthcare facilities is tremendous. Changes in demographics, financial and legal structure, governmental oversight, as well as other factors are driving hospitals to evaluate their current facilities and seek greater efficiencies at a rapid pace.  Compounding the steepening demand curve is a slowly shrinking pool of qualified engineers and technical leaders capable of designing this next generation of facilities.  Our client is committed to remaining an employer of choice, but to do this they need leaders at all levels who can concentrate the energies of their team on the design of more effective, practical, and efficient solutions.

This individual will be a senior leader in one of their studios. He or she will be their client’s “go to person,” for electrical issues and will become a recognized leader and mentor within the firm. Individuals at this level must demonstrate a high degree of creativity, foresight and mature judgment in anticipating and solving complex and unique consulting problems.

Our client is committed to their goals and values and to the ongoing success of the firm.  They set high standards and achieve them.  Through hard work, professionalism, and competence, the successful candidate will enjoy the benefits of a truly exceptional place to work.  For the successful candidate who thrives in this sort of highly professional atmosphere, participation in the ownership structure of the company is a strong possibility.
