A well-established provider of MEP consulting engineering services in the Washington DC area is looking to invest in a key business leader to help them run and grow their multimillion-dollar regional business practice. This highly visible Principal will be a key leader in the areas of business development, operations management, strategic planning, and project execution. Our client provides services in a number of market segments, having completed significant commercial, industrial, healthcare, education, sports, government, and institutional projects by providing creative solutions to complex needs. The firm enjoys a strong reputation for excellence but needs an additional leader to effectively capitalize on their market presence and reputation for quality work. This Principal will be tasked with continuing to grow our client’s presence in the Virginia and Maryland markets while making sure that projects are executed smoothly and profitably.

Job Scope:
- Responsible for business development and client management in one or more market segments.
- Support of operations, project execution, and employee management.
- Assist in the preparation of the regional business plan and budgets.
- Support and execution of a balanced growth strategy.
- Provide strategic business development vision for the Washington DC region.
- Grow local revenues by winning large, interesting, complex projects that are world class in nature.
- Ensure strong profit margins by helping to implement procedures, systems, and internal controls that produce excellence in project execution.
- Ensure that the highest standards of professionalism and quality control are always met or exceeded.
- Work closely with the Managing Principal to oversee recruiting, development, mentoring, and retention of regional staff.
- Help to set goals, responsibilities, and standards for local employees and allocate resources in a cost-effective manner to support the regional business plan.
Experience / Education Required:
- BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, MS or MBA preferred.
- PE.
- Proven business development track record in the DC area.
- Proven track record for successful, timely, and profitable project delivery.
- Excellent communication, writing and presentation skills.
- 15+ years of experience.
