Job Scope:
- Identify, structure, close and manage senior and subordinated debt as well as quasi-equity opportunities for a $300 million fund covering domestic power and non-power projects and project developers. Will also participate in future Latin America Fund.
- Marketing the Fund’s investment products to project developers, investment banks, commercial banks, insurance companies, engineering firms and consultants.
- Assist in reporting on portfolio’s investment performance to investor and the company’s Investment Review Committee. Will provide analysis and execution assistance to portfolio manager.
- Coordinate transaction syndication efforts as needed.
- Reports to the portfolio manager.
Experience / Education Required:
- Project financing experience in the power, paper, metals, and transportation industry.
- Strong closing abilities, the ability to lead a documentation team (including external counsel) in an independent, timely manner while ensuring senior management is updated on all major issues, seeking management advice and counsel as necessary.
- Ability to anticipate problems/issues, measure their magnitude and find opportunities to improve the credit and/or sell off the account.
- Maintain a “big picture” view of the account through keeping current on industry dynamics and credit quality of all project participants.
- Strong underwriting/credit and financial modeling skills.
- Strong writing skills.
- Fully understand and effectively communicate all issues of a transaction.
- Detail orientation to ensure borrowers are complying with all corporate covenants.
- Strong team player with ability to develop internal consensus.
