Our client is a leading provider of a full line of high-quality, high-performance lift trucks (forklifts), including electric, gas, LP-gas and diesel powered lift trucks; narrow aisle, very narrow aisle and motorized hand trucks. The company offers comprehensive fleet management services, as well as service, parts, financing and training. Our client is a $500 million subsidiary of a publicly traded corporation and a well-established manufacturer of industrial machinery. Revenue is generated primarily through dealer network of approximately 50 dealers with 150-200 locations.
Job Scope:
- This individual will be responsible for overseeing and providing assistance to company owned dealerships and being a board member of all Dealer Capital Enhancement Program Dealerships.
- Responsible for recruitment and recommendations of new dealer candidates and evaluating the marketing and operational aspects of dealer candidate business plans.
- Responsible for the business turn-around of failing dealers and managing the termination process of dealers who are voluntarily or involuntarily ending business relationship with company.
- Responsible for ensuring effective dealer start-ups.
- Position will require approximately 30-50% travel to dealer locations.
Experience / Education Required:
- Bachelors degree. MBA is a plus.
- Fifteen years of field experience with either a dealer or manufacturer of capital equipment.
- Knowledge of dealership operations and small business planning.
- Sensitivity to financial and legal ramifications of actions.
- Good communication skills and the ability to establish strong rapport with dealer principals.
- High degree of integrity. Ability to keep confidential all matters concerning dealer operations and corporate strategic direction.
- High sense of urgency and follow-up ability.
